God's Chisel

I saw this at camp and it spoke to me.  Hope it blesses you.

Ephesians 2:10. "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

God's Strength

God is so good!  I am still amazed daily by His mercy and blessings. But for Him to work in me and my life, I've had to learn the hard way to get over myself and get out of the way.

I pride myself on being able to take charge of a situation and handle things.  And sometimes in life that is what is needed.   There is no need to fall apart and crumble at every situation that comes my way.  Plus I'm a strong-willed individual, so I like it my way (and Burger King says I can have it my way...ha ha!)

Because of these traits, I try to "fix" things.  But when it comes to what God needs to do, I've had to learn that I must get over myself, get out of the way, and let Him handle it.  God, my Father, wants me to let Him take care of me.  He wants to take care of me daily just like my earthly Daddy has done.

Once I learned that lesson, all I can say is "WOW!"  God has blessed me and taken care of situations in record time.  He continues to work on me daily, and as I learn to lean on Him for all situations, He shows me more of His mercy, grace, strength, and knowledge.

I was recently presented with a request which required my standing in front of a group and talking early in the morning.  Now many may wonder why that is such an issue with me.  By nature, I'm a shy individual, but once I get to know you, watch out!  Really standing in front of a crowd is not my "comfort zone." And I'm not a morning person...I require many cups of java to get my motor started.

I knew that God was up to something and that I needed to do this, although I wanted to pee my pants at the thought of it.  I must say that by obeying God and seeking Him, I have grown as a Christian.  By studying His Word to present in those early morning devotions, I was reminded of God's promises to me and that He will never leave me nor forsake me even when I wander away and try to handle it on my own.

I want to share the verse that stood out and became the motto for our Get a Grip Camp 2010:

Phil 4:13  "I can do ALL things through CHRIST who gives me strength."

Remember that no matter the situation, God is always there and will give you strength to handle anything that comes your way.  Trust in Him.  Love Him.  Get a Grip!  Never let go!
